Re: Ignite serveur model D to server model K

Those are very different machines with very different architectures -- the D-box has support for EISA cards. I would be very surprised if a make_tape_recovery image from a D-box would boot a K-box.

If it ain't broke, I can fix that.

Re: Ignite serveur model D to server model K

An Ignite golden image may have a chance, it is more generic than a recovery archive.

Or, if the customer still has 10.20 media, can you Ignite the K-class from scratch, then install the pesky applications?

Re: Ignite serveur model D to server model K

Hi Ludovic:

I could do this successfully with 10.20 a few years ago Igniting a D390 on a K580 during disaster recovery exercises.

The D-class was devoid of EISA devices and I had to load missing LAN drivers, but it can be done.

Regards!

Re: Ignite serveur model D to server model K

Hi,

Thanks for your response
I thinks that the most easy is to install a fresh install 10.20 and patchs
The most hard is to find all CD !
