Make recovery tape Questions

I am wondering if you can do a make recovery tape without having a tape drive on the server that you want to make the tape for? In other words I have a server that does the backups with a tape drive and another server without a tape drive that I want to do a make recovery tape for. My other unrelated question is it possible to do a make recovery tape on a server and then restore it to another completely different server?

Re: Make recovery tape Questions

Look for make_net_recovery to run ignite over network. This will archive ignite image into a different server.

Ignite image can entirely be restored on different server if it fits similar hardware class.

Clint,

Yes, you can do a made_net_recovery and then copy it to tape. Details here:
