Number of disks in root disk group
Hi,
When I install 11 and 11i OS using ignite-ux , it selects all the available disks and put them into vg00. Though I modified these disks and marked none it takes no effect. Can not proceed installation. External disks are connected. That is why this problem.
Simple way is disconnect the external cable which connects storage. But I want to find out is there any configuration to fix it. Setting hp_root_grp_disks=1 didn't help.
Thanks.

Re: Number of disks in root disk group
hi,
in the file /var/opt/ignite/data/Rel_B.11.00/XXXX.cfg (for us, it's thyssen.cfg) there is a parameter:
physical_volume disk[_hp_root_disk] or
physical_volume disk[*].
when it's set to [*], ignite uses all discs to install.
i have always both parameters in my file and comment them, corresponding to the machine i want to install, out.
hope this helps!

Re: Number of disks in root disk group
Hi,
In /var/opt/ignite/local edit the file config,
set the parameter "init _hp_root_grp_disks=1"
and start the ignite again.
