RX6600 Ignite-11.31 no disk devices

RX6600 Ignite-11.31 no disk devices

we have updated ROM and P400 SAS controller FW but once Ingite INSTALLFS kernel loads no drives are found. SAS drive is fine. Also 11.23 does see the drive. Using IGNITE-UX-11-31 version C.7.2.94. Has anyone ever dealt with this?

Re: RX6600 Ignite-11.31 no disk devices

Ignite does not have any images when you first install it. So the 11.23 install must have been created as a Golden Image or from DVD media that included the drivers needed to make SAS controllers work. The Ignite image for 11.31 must not have been created with the required drivers. While convenient, SAS controllers are not simple disks so special drivers are required. The best way to create installation images is to start with the core DVD media (that supports the SAS controllers) and then add whatever else is needed. make_depots, make_config and manage_index will be useful.

Re: RX6600 Ignite-11.31 no disk devices

I would go into ORCA (press "SHIFT" followed by "8" instead of "F8") and check the status.

I agree, without the RAID driver for P400 you won't see the disk.

I assume the P400 is already configured.

Hope this helps!

Upgrading to IGNITE to C.7.11.439 did make a difference. Now the P400 raid disk is seen and I have started a fresh build.

OK, newer ignite normally means newer install kernel with newer/other drivers - this makes sense.

Hope this helps!
