Reload genesis vPAR....

Hello -

Trying to see if we can pull this off. We have a rx8640 with two nPARs. One of the nPARS we currently have 3 vPARs up and running. I noticed today that the genesis vPAR is configured incorrectly when it comes it is lay out on the two internal disk drives and we need to reload it. I will not go into those gory details. :-)

Anway, the other two vPARs are SAN boot with additional SAN storage and are up and functioning. I have made a Net Recovery image of the genesis vPAR and need to know if we can do the following:

1) Bring down the 3 vPARs and boot the genesis vPAR with the Net Recovery image.
2) We make our configuration changes with iTool/Ignite and reload the genesis vPAR.
3) When the genesis vPAR is back up online, boot the other 2 vPARs since all config data has been restored.

Thanks!
Chris

Re: Reload genesis vPAR....

There is no "genesis vPar" (only genesis nPar) - you should be able to restore this vPar while all others are running ...

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: Reload genesis vPAR....

Thanks for catching the genesis thing. :-) So we should be able to pull it off. Will give it a try.

Thanks!

Re: Reload genesis vPAR....

In general YES. Knowing your version would be better ...

How about

vparstatus -P

(if your version supports this)

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: Reload genesis vPAR....

The vPAR we need to reload is running 11.31 and other two are at 11.23.
