Restaure the Tape of make_recovery on R380 2part
1-I made a make_recovery under K370
2- I restaure this tape under R380 but when I want start this machine, he stop on boot extrcat /stand/vmunix level. I think that the kernel that K370use can not be used under the R380.
I hop that every body understand my pb
Also I inform you the I have doing the same thing but the source machine is class D and the restaure on R380 was succseful.
I look for way to do the something like classe D

Re: Restaure the Tape of make_recovery on R380 2part
OK. Ignite recovery tapes can be used to clone systems of like/similar hardware (K570 to K580). The D-class and R-class are fairly similar to one another but not to the K-series.
I would suggest testing/verifying the tape as I suggested in your first post (i.e. via 'tar' extraction).

Re: Restaure the Tape of make_recovery on R380 2part
So I try to do: tar -xvf /dev/rmt/1m /home from the tape of make_recovery but I receive this error: tar: blocksize=4 directory checksum error.
Have you any idea to restore my /home FS.

Did you remember to skip the LIF file on the beginning of the recovery tape before attempting to extract the /home directory?
