Restoration Issue : Can not load OS archive (Recovery Archive)

I have taken ignite backup from make_tape_recovery -x inc_entire=vg00 of a HPUX 11i v2 OS and wants to restore on a server having HPUX 11i v1. During restoration
I have taken ignite in two different tapes both are giving the same error as follows.

pax_iux : [offset 0g+4m+0k+84]: Permission denied.
opt/VRTSob/jre-ia.ta: The archive file appears to be corrupt.
Error: Can not load OD archive (Recovery Archive)

How to resolve the issue...Any Idea..

Re: Restoration Issue : Can not load OS archive (Recovery Archive)

Shalom,

Make sure the target server is both certified for the OS 11i v2, it must be 64 bit and it has a higher firmware requirement.

As to this issue, it would appear that the archive itself may be a problem. Could simply be a bad tape.

Check the create log on the source server.

The comment "wants to restore on a server having HPUX 11i v1" is irrellevant. The old 11iv1 will be overwritten.

The other comments are neccessary.

1) make another tape. Sometimes the error messages need to actually be read. "The archive appears to be corrupt !!!... New tape, new ignite image, diff tape drive...

2) read the release notes for 11iv2 and ensure that the server you are installing to is supported and has the required FW levels.

Give us more info and maybe we can assist.

e.g.

What model and FW rev is the target system.

What version of Ignite are you using ? If not current then the answer is to update that software, nobody can help with OLD software.

Where during the recovery do you get the error ? Sometimes the error messages need to actually be read. "The
