We are palnning for migration from rx2620 machine to rx7640.
I have done ignite make net reocovery backup of existing rx2620 system to ignite server, now i need help to retore that backup to new rx7640 machine.
Also can we create bootable DVD for the same.
Please advice.

Re: Retore Ignite to new hardware
Shalom,
The right tool for the job is Golden images.

All the links you need are in that thread.
make_net_recvoery will probaby also work, though the radical difference in hardware will probably present an obstacle.

Re: Retore Ignite to new hardware
I agree with Steven.
make_net_recovery is intended to restore everything that was on the rx2620. You can try this, see if works, but there may be issues.
make_sys_image for 'golden images' makes a more generic image that could work better moving to different models.
Of course you should also consider cold installing your new machine directly with Ignite. Definitely the most straightforward approach.
