ie: set my tz from my ignite configuration..
Later,
Bill
WARNING: The system's time zone has not been set. If you wish to set the
timezone now, return to the System tab and do so. Since the the
hostname for the system has already been set, set_parms will not run
during the initial boot process. If you do not set the time zone now,
you will need to wait until the system completes its boot process and
either set the time zone directly or with sam(1M).

Re: Setting TZ with ignite
The only reason I ask is that before I test out postconfigs and so on, I want them to work because the reboots take around 1 hour in total.. it's a bit annoying when a syntax error such as kb and Kb in the config files wastes half the morning!
A chance for points none-the-less!
There's one for you!
Later,
Bill

Re: Setting TZ with ignite
Do it in reverse order:
First install customizing.... Then copy installation config file .... : )

SolutionI'm no ignite expert but found the answer to this & that other question @ http://docs.hp.com/hpux/onlinedocs/B2355-90738/B2355-90738.html
in fact is was soooo good I booked marked the site/page ;)
Setting the Local Time Zone
The TZ environment variable governs what time zone the message in the install.log contain. The "time zone" config file keyword does not have any effect on the messages that occur during the install, but does determine the timezone setting on the target system (the two can be independently set).
To set the TZ environment variable, it is best to do so in the INSTALLFS file so that it is set as early in the process as possible. However the very first message will still be in EST since it is produced before the config file contents of INSTALLFS are read. The procedure for setting this to MST7DT is:
/opt/ignite/bin/instl_adm -d > /tmp/cur_cfg echo 'env_vars += "TZ=MST7MDT"' >> /tmp/cur_cfg /opt/ignite/bin/instl_adm -f /tmp/cur_cfg

Re: Setting TZ with ignite
I think alex is referring to this link,
http://docs.hp.com/cgi-bin/fsearch/framedisplay?top=/hpux/onlinedocs/B2355-90738/B2355-90738_top.html&con=/hpux/onlinedocs/B2355-90738/00/00/47-con.html&toc=/hpux/onlinedocs/B2355-90738/00/00/47-toc.html&searchterms=setting%20timezone&queryid=20011105-063124
Hope this helps.
