Re: SysMgtServer depot file corrupt during installation

There could be a problem with your source depot. Perhaps something was corrupted during depot setup.

Try running "swverify -d " to see if the problem is in the source.

Re: SysMgtServer depot file corrupt during installation

when doing the swverify commands nothing is wrong with the depot on the server. it looks like the software got installed before other needed software is installed.

i did copy all the hpux cdroms with the following command. starting at disc 1:

ofcourse cdrom is mounted on /cdrom

swcopy -s /cdrom \* @ /var/opt/ignite/depots/Rel_B.11.11/core

then unmount and remount the 2nd disc and do the same thing again... until all done...

is this the right thing to do....

Re: SysMgtServer depot file corrupt during installation

I agree, it does look like a load order problem.

I think I found a patch that may fix this for you. It's a patch for swinstall, which Ignite is using here.

Try installing the latest Software Distributor patch on your ignite server. If you are using 11.11 on your server also, the latest 11.11 patch is PHCO_33822 (no reboot).

You did create the Ignite depot correctly with swcopy. There is an Ignite command that is a bit easier, /opt/ignite/bin/make_depots. It does the mounts/unmounts and swcopies for you.

Re: SysMgtServer depot file corrupt during installation

hello,

i installed the patch but still the same error. i think it has to do something with the installation media.... while it is not corrupt other cd sets work... but the problem is i cannot donwload the new version of the enterprise operating environment yet....

SysMgmtServer 3.00.09.02 is also newer than the file i can download from HP, so there is also no update yet...
