Re: Unable to run boot lan install (status = -7)
this can occur when lan0 of the client and the server are not on the same subnet.
(lan0 being the core lan port on the client, other network cards are not initialised at this point)
Does SEARCH LAN INSTALL find see your ignite server?

Re: Unable to run boot lan install (status = -7)
Search install cannot find the ignite server...
Main Menu: Enter command or menu > SEARCH LAN INSTALL
Searching for potential boot device(s) - on Path 0/0/0/0
This may take several minutes.
To discontinue search, press any key (termination may not be immediate).

Re: Unable to run boot lan install (status = -7)
your client does not see the ignite server.
The only network interface available on the client is the one on the core io board. You have to use that one.
I have had the same problem and it was solved by checking this document:
http://www5.itrc.hp.com/service/cki/docDisplay.do?docLocale=en_US&admit=552267591+1121675212196+28353475&docId=200000063248794
In my case it was the instl_boottab file which didn't have a valid ip adress for the client to use.
Check syslog on the ignite server.
regards,
Bart
