Hello Masters,

I have taken full export dmp using,

What work around is required to upgrade the database on host-2.
Kindly explain in details so that these replyes can help others too.

Re: Upgrade Oracle 7.3.4 TO Oracle 8.x
You will have to install the oracle 8.x software on host-2 using the Oracle installer software, and create a test database. Then you can perform a full import into that database. If you have access to Oracle metalink there are many good references to upgrades, migrations etc.

Re: Upgrade Oracle 7.3.4 TO Oracle 8.x
The oracle documentation provides a complete migration guide. It tells you everything you need to do and check step by step. I tried to attatch a copy, but it was larger than the 1 meg limit. If you would like, post your email address and I will email you a copy of the document.
Just to note, Dave did outline the basic steps, but there are a few things you are going to need to check along the way. For example, updating your init.ora file, updating any stored rowids, checking for bad date constraints, etc. The documentation outlines all of this with exact steps and scripts to run.
