Upgrade from tape recovery (make_tape_recovery)

If you restore an Ignite tape to a machine, it will overwrite whatever data is on the disk you choose to use.

It doesn't matter if it currently has 10.20, 11.0, 11i, whatever. The data will get overwritten.

If it is the same machine, yes you can. However, non-vg00 volume group data may have vxfs filesystem versions that your 11.0 OS might not be able to mount. That depends upon which vxfs versions you were running under 11.11 and which vxfs version you have on 11.0. If you don't have any non-vg00 data then you should have no problems at all.

If I understand correctly, you're asking if you can use a 11.0 recovery tape on a 11.11 machine. The answer is yes, assuming the hardware is similar, but the machine will end up being 11.0, not 11.11.

Those machines are probably too different for a successfull Ignite.
