Warning messages in recovery.log

Hello, today I got strange warning messages in my log, after I preformed make_tape_recovery:

* Archiving contents of xena via tar image to local device/dev/rmt/0mn.
pax: tmp/uud5564 : No such file or directory
pax: #;VL*n#6%@x : No such file or directory
WARNING: The pax command returned a non-zero exit status (exit status 1)
WARNING: The pax command returned a non-zero exit status (exit status 1)
* Creation of system archive complete

What is the problem and is it a problem at all?

thanx

Re: Warning messages in recovery.log

Hi Alex,

Check for strange files in /tmp, remove them and retry make_tape_recovery...

Re: Warning messages in recovery.log

Alex,
I think the files on the "No such file or directory" are most like to be temporary files which were there at the beginning of the job, but have since been removed.
I don't believe this will invalidate your tape. You could alwayd try a recover?!

Re: Warning messages in recovery.log

Alex,
have a look at:
http://docs.hp.com/en/IUX/docs/release_note.html Section 4.9

" - Both make_net_recovery and make_tape_recovery may result in a warning
message regarding temporary files that pax was not able to put into the
archive, such as:

* Archiving contents of XX via tar image to local device/dev/rmt/0mn.
pax: var/stm/logs/tools/10_0_15_0_6/id : No such file or directory
WARNING: The pax command returned a non-zero exit status
(exit status 1)

This is due to a design change in release 3.2 such that there is a longer
period of time between when the list of files to archive are generated
and when pax is called. These warnings are safe to ignore and will be
addressed in a future release of Ignite-UX."
