Hello,

What is the amount in Bytes/Kilobytes of 1 block, if I use make_recovery (Ignite-UX).

Greetings,

Re: amount of 1 block

As far as I'm aware, the default "block size" is typically 512 bytes.

Re: amount of 1 block

Block size is a "flexible" term. It can be used in reference to filesystems, disks, etc.

Gernerally, though, I agree with the response above. For most system utilities block size defaults to 512 bytes.

Re: amount of 1 block

Hi,

'blocks', as reported by utilities like tar, cpio, dd ... default to 512 bytes, but their size can be adjusted for some programs.

Best regards,

Dan

Re: amount of 1 block

An Ignite recovery tape consists of two parts:
1. Boot image
2. Data image
The boot image is witten in 2KB blocks and the data image is written in 10KB blocks (default blocksize for pax).
