announce: new ignite home page

As you may already know, HP-UX documentation located on http://docs.hp.com has been gradually migrating to the main HP web page, http://www.hp.com

The Ignite-UX home page has officially migrated. Easy access link is
http://www.hp.com/go/ignite-ux

Enjoy.

Hi Scot:

And I regret to say that if I choose 'www.hp.com' there is _nothing_ that leads me to believe the old Ignite site could be found here! Maybe it's me, but the "pretty graphics" are meaningless and distracting. I want a professional website for documentation that lists documents, not a conglomeration of hobbyist and serious professional material melded into one.

Scot, this isn't meant to be a "slay-the-messenger". I do appreciate the time you have taken to make this announcement, though.

Regards!

Re: announce: new ignite home page

Scot,

Thanks for making the announcement here. I think such announcement is a good idea to inform the user community.

I thought the HP-UX documentation besides others are being migrated to BSC. It is also mentioned at http://docs.hp.com/en/moving.pdf

Is it a new HP strategy to move to http:/www.hp.com?

You have said this incorrectly. It is migrating to the BSC web pages.
http://www.docs.hp.com/#moreinfo

It's just that Ignite is now important enough to have its own "go" page before it moves to BSC.

>JRF: I choose www.hp.com there is _nothing_ that leads me to believe the old Ignite site could be found here!

It isn't really there, it reached indirectly through the HP wide "go" page.

>I want a professional website for documentation that lists documents, not a conglomeration

Don't worry about riffraff, they have to know the secret handshake to get there:
http://www.hp.com/go/ignite-ux

>Sameer: I thought the HP-UX documentation besides others are being migrated to BSC.

Right, Scot has confused the changes.

>Is it a new HP strategy to move to www.hp.com?

No, it is using the old strategy of the "go" pages to help with the BSC move.
