I have a HP-UX 11iv1 Ignite Server
Itainum HP-UX 11iv2 blade ignite client
I can get the client to make_net_recovery to the ignite server, but am not able to boot from it.
When I try to boot I am picking up the Windows DHCP server instead.
Everything looks ok on the ignite server, no errors in the syslog
Is it possable to do this?
And how do I get around the Windows DHCP server problem?

SolutionCould you post the PXE response you received ?
Assuming the configuration is OK on the ignite server, my first idea is that you probably have a RDP deployment server in your network. This kind of server sends PXE offers that conflict with HP-UX.
Several ways to solve this conflict :
- on RDP server side, depending on used software, you can sometimes make exceptions on specific mac addresses. If not, you can stop the service a few minutes, just time enough for the client to accept PXE offer from HP-UX Ignite server.
- On client side, since it is an itanium, you can use "dbprofile" at EFI level. The idea is that you no more need a bootp/dhcp server : all needed IP are stored in the profile.
Hope this help

Re: booting Itanuim Ignite-UX client from PA RISC Ignite server pb
thanks, Im now able to boot over network and get ignite-ux
However, when I try to run a recovery I am getting the following error:"
______________________
--> Do you mean that you get the "Welcome to Ignite-UX!" screen, then choose "Install", then "Guided" or "Advanced", the choose lan card, then "Network Configuration" screen ?
The error is just after this screen, right ?
I presume you have checked every fields of the "Network Configuration" screen. If not, do it.

Could you post content of /var/opt/ignite/INDEX file. It should contain at least someting like :
cfg "HP-UX B.11.23 Default" {
description "This selection supplies the default system configuration that HP supplies for the B.11.23 release."
"/opt/ignite/data/Rel_B.11.23/config"
"/opt/ignite/data/Rel_B.11.23/hw_patches_cfg"
"/var/opt/ignite/config.local"
}
If not it could mean that Ignite for 11.23 has not been installed on the PA-RISC box. Could you check all of this ?
