Re: cloning a system using ignite

Using the latest version of ignite, you should be able to clone across different server classes.
Have a look here:

Myself, I wouldn't, I would install fresh from CD.

Re: cloning a system using ignite

You can do it, I'm linking an ignite doc that shows how to set up server, take a golden image and clone a system.

http://docs.hp.com/cgi-bin/fsearch/framedisplay?top=/hpux/onlinedocs/B2355-90767/B2355-90767_top.html&con=/hpux/onlinedocs/B2355-90767/00/00/32-con.html&toc=/hpux/onlinedocs/B2355-90767/00/00/32-toc.html&searchterms=Golden%7cImage%7cIgnite&queryid=20030505-001445

Thnis is a detailed oriented operation, which I now do regularly. It takes some persistance, but you can do it if you tweak the configuraiton correctly.

Re: cloning a system using ignite

if you are already using ignite-ux, then you may use following command to create boot tape:
# make_tape_recovery -Ai

the tape may be used for booting the system and make changes to the image to meet the specific need.
