I try to create a bootable IGNITE CD but after booting i got following errors.

cat: cannot open /tmp/ign_configure/SD_CDROM/2001-05-11,13:29: Invalid argument
*Completed 0 kBytes of archive
gunzip:stdin: unexpected end of file
pax_iux: The archive is empty
Error: Cannot load OS archive (Recovery Archive)

this is the contents of hfs fs befor dd:
root@hxx0009:/image_new/hxx0066>ll /cd_image
total 1152832
-rw------- 1 root sys 589930914 May 16 14:22 2001-05-11,13:29

this ist the contents of the dd Image:

creating a tape with the same image works fine.

TO create a Bootable CD you need aditional steps.

See make_medialif and instl_combine man pages.

Hi Michael,

I just created my own itrc account to add some stuff to your question:

As I know from our sleepless IUX nightsessions ;-) you've tried the following:

1. created a make_net_recovery archive
2. read the instructions to create a bootable tape with the archive
3. modified the config files ("DSK" instead of NET... and removed all the NFS-stuff)
4. created an hfs-image as described in the admin-guide
5. run into the above error

Any ideas?

it was certain to use 'make_medialif and instl_combine'
