creating Ignite-UX bootable CD with golden image on it

Has anyone had success using 'mkisofs' and 'cdrecord' to create a bootable CD which installs an Ignite Golden Image?

I am using an HP CD-RW drive on an HP 9000/743 or 9000/785 system. Using HP-UX 10.20.

The issue appears to be how to actually create and/or write the LIF file in raw mode(?) to the CD so that HP-UX recognizes it.

It is not clear using mkisofs and cdrecord how to get this task accomplished.

Burning regular files to the CD-RW or CD-R works fine with no problems.

I have used all the steps to create a disk image from a logical volume (HFS), and used instl_combine to wrap the LISF file around the golden image, but I cannot get the system to boot from the CD. I see the CD drive lights activate when I tell it to boot from the CD, but it never accepts it.

I am writing to a CD-RW disk, and using an HP CD-Writer CDROM drive to read it.

Does your HP-UX system read multisession cd-roms? I have always used CD-Rs as they do not generally suffer from any incompatibilites with systems that don't support multiple sessions. Hope this helps.

Looking in the ignite manual, it tells how to make a CD in the chapter on creating your own install media.

I don't have the CD writer hardware to do this, we normally just make tapes (they are higher capacity anyway).
