error during make_recovery -A -v

Hi,

during make_recovery -A -v (HP-UX B.11.11) I have following error message:

"vxvm:vxprint: ERROR: IPC failure: Configuration daemon is not accessible"

after while: "System Recovery Tape successfully created".

What above error messege mean? What is wrong? Is bootable tape realy good (can I use it to system recover?)

Regards,
dbw

I don't think it's related to your problem but, if you're still using make_recovery it means you've got an old version of Ignite. You should download and install the newest from here:
http://www.software.hp.com/products/IUX/index.html

Then start running make_tape_recovery.

Re: error during make_recovery -A -v

Hi dbw,

The error indicates that the VxVM product is installed, but not configured. The vxconfigd daemon is not running and the vxinstall command has probably not been ran to configure a disk group. The options are to either run vxinstall to set up a disk group or swremove the VxVM product if it's not being used.

Check the make_recovery man page for furter details.

Cheers!

Hi,

Propably you have Veritas file manager unconfigured,
option is either to configure the Veritas file manager or to remove the same

B7961AA B.03.10.6 Base HP VERITAS Volume Manager
B9116AA B.03.10.6 HP VERITAS Volume Manager

Thans all for help!

I think the best is to swremove VxVM.
