Re: golden Image, NFS mount, boot error

Try some of the links from a google search:

https://www.google.com/#q=ignite-ux%20administration%20guide

http://www.lmgtfy.com/?q=ignite-ux+administrator+guide

Also -- Did you try the NFS options I mentioned?

Re: golden Image, NFS mount, boot error

Go to

http://www.hp.com/go/hpux-vpars-docs

and get "Using Golden Images with Virtual Partitions" - it has some good hints (even for virtual machines).

Also read the chapter

"Do Not Create Golden Images of the VM Host for Guest Installation"

in the HPVM guide!!!

Better copy the install media to your servers ignite repository and install a fresh guest. You may use golden images from this guest then.

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

This isn't the IP address of the NFS client.

Re: golden Image, nfs mount, boot error

10.1.42.5 is the ip of nfs server.

Which is useless.  It needs to have clients there.

Re: golden Image, nfs mount, boot error

Hello Denis,
Thanks for the response.
Ok I will make that changes. /var/opt/ignite/clients sec=sys, anon=2, rw=nfs client ip

but what about the 2nd error:
10.1.42.5:/var/opt/ignite/archives/Rel_B.11.31: Permission denied

As mentioned in my 1st post

You need to change both to list the NFS client IP/FQDN.

Re: golden Image, NFS mount, boot error

Hello All,

I tried to reconfigure everything. First I created a Golden Image archive and then configure the Ignite-UX server to recognize the golden image archive as per the guide found shared by Torsten.

As per Dennis suggestion I edited the /etc/dfs/dfstab file and make the entry for NFS client server which I am going to use now as 10.1.42.6 NFS client

10.1.42.5 NFS server.

But still getting both the error repeated as earlier;

NOTE:    NFS mount (/sbin/fs/nfs/mount -oro
         10.1.42.5:/var/opt/ignite/archives/Rel_B.11.31
         /tmp/ign_configure/archive_nfs) failed, see messages above.

nfs mount: 10.1.42.5:/var/opt/ignite/clients: Permission denied
NOTE:    NFS mount (/sbin/fs/nfs/mount -orw 10.1.42.5:/var/opt/ignite/clients
         /var/opt/ignite/clients) failed, see messages above.
       * Using client directory: /var/opt/ignite/clients/0xB2B9223B8EC3

# /usr/sbin/share o/p for reference
-               /var/opt/ignite/clients   sec=sys,anon=2,rw=10.1.42.6   ""
-               /var/opt/ignite/archives/Rel_B.11.31   sec=sys,anon=2,rw=10.1.42.6   ""

Any suggestion how to fixed it.

Regards,

Syed

My only suggestion now would be to completely remove the rw=... from dfstab and retry.

And quickly put it back after you're finished!

I'm surprised that the -oro mount for /var/opt/ignite/archives/Rel_B.11.31 also fails.  ??
