how to restore ignite

i ahve the system runnig with hp-ux 10.20 , found lvm commands are zer0 byte , i ahve the ignite backup how can i restore ?

You will have to boot from the tape.

Hi, you want to restore because your server crashed or your server is running OK but you lost some data? You can restore from Ignite backup without rebuild your server if you believe the OS is still OK.

take your tape rewind it.
skip the tape-first file
$mt fsf 1

the second tape-file should be tar-backup of your system.

therefore:
$ tar xvf /dev/rmt/0m /missing/files
