ignite backup

Dear All

I have to take ignite back of 10 clients from ignite server from server side itself,
server A is my ignite server and all other servers b,c,d,e etc.... are my clients
i added cleints in server A, and i want to know how to use GUI to take ignite backup of the clients from server A(ignite server)
Select client icon and then create network recovery archive from the actions
menu but is not working
i checked /etc/exports file and exported it
i don't want make_net_recovery command from client side.
I don't know why i am not getting through gui

thanks and regards

Re: ignite backup

What error are you getting?

If you run it with make_net_recovey, just for debuging does it work ?

have you checked the recovery.log on the server ?

you can find it:

/var/opt/ignite/clients/YOURSERVER/recovery/latest/recovery.log

Windows?, no thanks

Re: ignite backup

we would need the output of that command or the recovery.log, so we can take a look at what error you are getting.

Windows?, no thanks

Re: ignite backup

Dear Team
1.Not enough space for archive
2.The make_sys_image command failed, The system recovery archive will not be created.
make_net_recovery completed unsuccessfully.
o/s version is 11iv2 and it is itanium

RE: 1 )
From your ignite server -

# showmount -e (* verify that the file system /ignite_data is exported. If not, then "exportfs -av" and re-verify with showmount -e *)

From your client server -

# showmount -a (* verify the the NFS file systme rx26-161:/ignite_data is mounted. If not, them "mount -a" *)

RE: 2 ) Two fails because of 1)

a) Use ip addresses instead of hostname in ignite config file on ignite server

b) Verify MAC addresses of clients in /var/opt/ignite/clients

Re: ignite backup

Note: rx26-161 should be hostname of your ignite server

RE: 2 ) Two fails because of 1)

>> where is it located?

b) Verify MAC addresses of clients in /var/opt/ignite/clients

is not showing any thing in my ignite ux server, it is just dir only.

thats all

Please update me, first two steps are ok

i checked it before taking backup exported file system and mounted from client side
etc.....
I think this is due to the space issue.

/var/opt/ignite/recovery/arch_mnt on local needs 1648485 kbytes free.

there are 779556 kbytes free

Please advise

Re: ignite backup

Please provide

From ignite server

# showmount -e

From your client server -

# showmount -a

Since you have no mac addresses, since none are being created, you have no network connectivity between server and client. There, you have no NFS connectivity.
