ignite question

Members, Good morning.

In the ignite doc .. "Archive a standard system configuration and use that archive to replicate systems in far less time than with other methods."

Could you please tell what a standard system configuration is. What are the pre-requisites to replicate 2 systems from a master.

Re: ignite question

Hello,

The pre-requisites are, ignite software, an ignite server if you will be replicating via network or tape drives if you using local back-up/recovery.

Check your other question :-)

Re: ignite question

a standard system configuration is whatever you want to be YOUR standard system configuration.

If you like the configuration of SystemA and want to build SystemB and SystemC using that "standard", then you use SystemA as your "standard". You can also have many "standards", depending upon the problem being solved.

Re: ignite question

Any things in particular to check before deciding which is server and which systems are clients to be replicated? .... Can you also explain what a general configuration means .. what will be exported onto tape? TIA

Re: ignite question

Thanks for that link. If I understand it right, I can make golden image of machine A on ignite server at machine B. and I can have multiple golden images (of 3-4 systems) on a single ignite server. Is it correct
