Re: ignite recovery error.
Problem maybe raised from a dirty ,bad tape OR nfs share problem ?
First try cleaning the driver like recommended and check these:
http://h30499.www3.hp.com/t5/Ignite-UX/ignite-error-Cannot-load-OS-archive/m-p/5068195#M21061
http://h30499.www3.hp.com/t5/Ignite-UX/ignite-error-Cannot-load-OS-archive/m-p/5068195#M21061
if you have an Service Agreement with HP , calling support is better.

Re: ignite recovery error.
I/O error more likely to seems to be bad media or tape drive. Try cleaning the drive or better make use of media tape if your making use quite old one.

Re: ignite recovery error.
Why is it corrupt ?
- Dirty drive -> try cleaning
- Bad tape -> use another tape
- Bad drive -> replace drive
When learned (the hard way) to check the archive right after it was created.
For an Itanium server, you can do this with the following statements :
mf -f /dev/rmt/c3t1d0BESTn fsf 22
tar tf /dev/rmt/c3t1d0BESTn 1>>/dev/null
If this tar command ends without error, your tape is fine. It an error is returned, your archive is corrupted and not usable.
