ignite unattended install

Hi,

can you tell me if it is possible to create a complete unattended installation of HP-UX, using ignite? I am referring to something similar to kickstarting in linux, where you write all the answers (passwords, ips, etc) needed for the installation in a file, and the install process is taking them from there.

Re: ignite unattended install

Hi,

Yes, it's possible. So far I know, there are two types of install regarding ignite-ux: push install and pull install. The first is initiated from the ignite side, the latter is from the client side. Here are some docs about it:

Yups there is somthing similar to kickstart in HPUX called Golden Image

from this you can install HPUX servers with same configuration over network.
