ignite-ux recovery vpar
hi all
i have an rp7420 server with 2 npars and 3 vpars on each. I would like to configure ignite-UX for recovery. out of 3 vpars in one npar 2 are booting from SAN. CAn any body tell me how to plan for the ignite backup and recovery for this setup.
Now I hv setup an Ignite server in one of the vpar which is not a primary vpar ie not a boot partition. Will this create any issue.
pls let me know the best possible way.
thanks in advance

Re: ignite-ux recovery vpar
Hi,
I don't thing so, you can use the external tape library for Ignite Backup and restore. You can very well take the backup by manually loading the tape in to the library drive. But to boot from the tape drive of the libarary to restore the Ignite Image you will have tough time.
It is always better to use a standby DAT drive or DLT drive driectly attached to the partition, which is very easy while restoring too.
Have a look at the followings
