SolutionWhat you can do is to easily create a bootable CD in a few minutes. This CD can be created for 11.11, 11.23 and 11.31 systems and get you to the install menu where you choose the archive source, typically an Ignite server.

Re: ignite vg00 onto a cd/dvd to avoid the hassle??
"...Creating a bootable DVD from an Ignite
(make_tape_recovery) tape..."
This was a requirement for me during a DR site test. Of all things, the DR site did not have a tape drive, only CD / DVD.
Basically you are making an ISO image

Re: ignite vg00 onto a cd/dvd to avoid the hassle??
Run the following command on client on which you want to take vg00 backup
#make_net_recovery -s
You need to setup IGNITE server and clients for this.
Check attached file for setup steps.

Re: ignite vg00 onto a cd/dvd to avoid the hassle??
Ignite n/w backup/restore would be the fast solution in present n/w speeds. You can restore ignite backup in 15-20 minutes, instead of scratching your head in DVD ignite write.
Michal has provided a good pdf for writing a DVD.
Thanks,
Vivek
