lan Ignite Restore on L3000

When I boot off the lan I get an error message about if your terminal is not set to "hp" you will see garbage. Change the terminal type in your GSP if possible.

Well I am using putty and it does not have an option for HP. How do I change the terminal type in the GSP for an L3000? Is it possible?

Does anyone know what tool to connect to the LAN port that has "HP" as a terminal option?

Shalom,

Need to know the OS. 11.00's ignite interface worked with hp terminal. 11.11's worked with EM100 from a serial console.

You may wish to try vt100 as your terminal type.

I'm not aware of a terminal type called GSP.

Re: lan Ignite Restore on L3000

Can the GSP (gaurdian service processor) change the terminal setting for the LAN console? The point is not to use a serial console. I need to be to telnet to the LAN console remotely.

Re: lan Ignite Restore on L3000

You cannot change LAN console terminal setting via GSP. You can download Reflection for HP (not for Unix) from WRQ web site
http://www.wrq.com/servlets/com.WRQ.LC.LoadSource?source=CD-GEN&temp=evaltype
Reflection for HP is exactly what you need. If you have a X-window available, try hpterm. It will work as well.

Re: lan Ignite Restore on L3000

I found it - It has been awhile since I worked on a L3000.

In the GSP select CA and change the terminal settings to use vt100 instead of hp

Thanks.

You can change terminal setting in the GSP.
You need to use the CA option.
