I did a couple of ioscans and I didn't see any devices that started with anything other than a zero.

Just a thought. I had problems when I installed scsi3 driver into the kernel. When you do an ioscan the first column contains a non-numeric value which causes errors in Ignite. As it turns out, I didn't need the scsi3 driver and after I removed it Ignite was happy.
