make_net_recovery issues

Howdy boyz!!

Trying to back up 2 servers accross the wire to each other. One rx7640 system, fobdb, and one blade bl870c, fobapp. I created the appropriate directories on each one, and edited the /etc/dfs/dfstab files accordingly. Here's the command I ran first on fobapp
#make_net_recovery -v -x inc_entire=vg00 -x exclude=/u01 -s fobdb -a fobdb:/var/opt/ignite/recovery/archives/fobdb

I got it completed with errors. I have included the log file showing the error. If you could please have a peek, and tell me what if anything I'm not doing, or doing wrong?

Thank you in advance!!

Ron

It seems you don't have enough space.
Did you want to exclude more of those Oracle volumes?

It seems you had some temp files that were missing by the time they were to be backed up.

Thank you so much. Makes perfect sense in this senseless world!!

I'm running it again tonight, then again tomorrow morning when the DB is down. Let's see what happens!!

Re: make_net_recovery issues

Every now and then there will be some temporary file(s) missing from your backup, because they existed when make_net_recovery was started, but by the time they were actually to be copied, they were gone. Don't worry, nothing wrong with that. As it reads at the end of the logfile: "... completed with warnings" (not errors).

Re: make_net_recovery issues

You may want to exclude /var/tmp and /tmp from the backup.
I hope something is smart enough to provide empty directories when you need to recover?
