make_recovery and Mirror Copies

Hi friends.

Somebody advised me that the tape cartridge created by make_recovery is not able to restore the mirror configuration in a crash event, i.e., after using the cartridge to restore de system I would create/activate the mirror copies manually.

Is it true ?

Thanks in advance

Yes make_recovery doesn't restore the mirror configuration even though it shows all the system configuration in the mak_recovery log file. It requires to be done manually. I guess it is not done inorder to save time on recovery process.

Yes its true, by default mirrors are not restored. But you can configure make_recovery to re-mirror your disks after a restore (by adding a script to the restore which does all the exact commands needed to create the mirror).

The attachment is an instruction from HP on where to add the mirroring text to the config file.
