Re: make_recovery or make_tape_recovery

It depends on which version of Ignite you have. The latest version(s) use make_tape_recovery. If you don't have the latest version, you definitely should. Download it from here:

Re: make_recovery or make_tape_recovery

As far as telling which you have, try doing a man on make_tape_recovery or typing in the command "make_tape_recovery". If you don't have the man page and the command isn't found - it's time to download.

Re: make_recovery or make_tape_recovery

make_recovery is now obselete so make_tape_recovery is the one you want
Never preceed any demonstration with anything more predictive than "watch this"

Re: make_recovery or make_tape_recovery

If you have not downloaded the latest version of Ignite/UX in the last 6 months, then it's time to update. Ignite/UX is VERY hardware depenedent, both processors as well as tape drives and disks. Without the latest version, you will have problems with newer equipment. make_recovery has been deprecated for more than a year. Always use make_tape_recovery. Note that the options are different for make_tape_recovery.
