make_recovery without local dat

Is there any solution on how to make a make_tape_recovery on a host missing a local tape device. eg i want to make an ignite tape on a host that don't have any own dat, and use a dat on an remote/another host. And i don't want to use the make_net_recovery since.

Hi Magnus!
make_tape_recovery only works with local tape drives, it doesn't work through network.
