Trying to run "make_tape_recovery -i" on 11i and getting the following error message "vxvm:vxprint: ERROR: IPC failure: Configuration daemon is not accessible". Can anyone tell me what I need to check to make sure that Ignite UX is installed correctly?

Solution
Looks like the Veritas Volume Manager configuration daemon is not running. Probably you might have not setup the disk groups. Try setting up a disk group and see if it works.

Re: make_tape_recovery
The error simply means that VxVM product is installed but not configured. If you plan to use VxVM then you got to make sure you run "vxinstall". Otherwise swremove the VxVM fileset/product (HP VERITAS Volume Manager) and make_tape_recovery should then run fine.
