no domain name in /etc/resolv.conf after golden image install

this is IG 6.7:
despite the fact that it appears in the config file (see attached) and all other config file values are set accordingly, there is no domain name in /etc/resolv.conf after installation (also in the install gui the domain is showed correctly under the DNS tab).

What am I missing ?
thanks

Addendum to my first post:

that IG thinks it really did the job is nicely shown on the attached screenshot which shows part of IG's manifest for the client in question and where it clearly indicates to have set the domain name on the client. But as said, there is no domain name in resolv.conf after installation.

Re: no domain name in /etc/resolv.conf after golden image install

to the best of my knowledge the domain name is there for the /etc/hosts file so sendmail will work. It is not intended to populate the /etc/resolv.conf file. The golden image would have to have the resolv.conf file with the domain and any search domain options already filled in.
If it has wheels or a skirt, you can't afford it.

Re: no domain name in /etc/resolv.conf after golden image install

Was search set in /etc/resolv.conf.
If so, then domain is redundant. Some
version of resolve ignore domain if
search is set.

Check the /etc/hosts file as well to see
what if anything was set.

You may also want to check the
sendmail configuration.

Re: no domain name in /etc/resolv.conf after golden image install

Shalom Mathias,

The /etc/resolv.conf file may be one of the files excluded from a golden image, or you may be explicitly excluding it in your configuration for installing the Golden image.

There is a list that permits exclude or include of files HP decides are best not copied.

I doubt the file was excluded from the image.

While making a golden image, make_sys_image does change networking and its possible it made the change and archived the file incorrectly.
