/opt/ignite/boot/Rel_B.11.00/INSTALL does not exist

Hi,

I want to do a make_recovery, but it shows me this error:

* Creating The Tape Archive
make_medialif: error - /opt/ignite/boot/Rel_B.11.00/INSTALL does not exist, is not a regular file or is not readable.
ERROR: System Error, /opt/ignite/bin/make_medialif failed creating boot LIF
file.
ERROR: Failed to generate LIF on tape .

I have installed this:

B5725AA C.6.1.44 HP-UX Installation Utilities (Ignite-UX)
Ignite-UX-11-00 C.6.1.44 HP-UX Installation Utilities for Installing 11.00 Systems

but I don't have anything in /opt/ignite/boot/Rel_B.11.00

What could I do??

Hi Carmen,

You may try to reinstall (or even upgrade) you Ignite software because it seems to be something wrong with it. Go to:

If You do a swlist You should notice that

IUX-Recovery B.5.3.35
Ignite-UX network recovery tool subset


is missing.

Please reinstall this part or the whole ignite bundle.

I got around this problem by downloading and installing the ENTIRE Ignite/UX bundle (ALL 11.X OS's at 200+ MB).

I got around it by simply putting the missing files in place.
(procedure at end)
I did *not* experiment with installing the "missing" 11.11 fileset, but since Patrick says that he installed the entire 11.11 depot on 11.00, I would presume that you could also force the install of *only* the missing "Ignite-UX.BOOT-KRN-11-11" and save the rest of your disk space:

## swinstall -x enforce_dependencies=false \
-x mount_all_filesystems=false \
-s /HP_downloads/Ignite-UX-11-11_C.6.0.109_HP-UX_B.11.00_32+64.depot \
Ignite-UX.BOOT-KRN-11-11

Here's the manual procedure that I used:


Download the 11.11 depot, but don't install it. There are only a few missing 11.11 files to which the 11.00 files point via symbolic links:
