pax command issue

I am creating system golden image by using the "make_sys_image", but it failed because some of the files couldn't be successfully archived. And the /var/tmp/pax_bug_file indicate the reason is these files' whole path name exceed 100 characters.
Here is a sample of error message in pax_bug_file:

File: ./var/opt/ignite/depots/Specials/Concert/TCF-MgmtNode/ApacheStrong/APACHE-STRONG/opt/apache/JServ/docs/api exposes pax bug, directory longer than 100 chars

Is there any way to solve it?

Re: pax command issue

Hi,

If you are using 11.00 install pax patch PHCO_25418

If you are using 10.20 install pax patch PHCO_20388

In these descriptions there is the 100 character problem mentioned.

Re: pax command issue

This is a pax limitation as mentioned and must be avoided by using smaller path lengths. The easiest way is to mnove the /var/opt/ignite/depots directory to another volume group other than vg00 and create a symlink to point to the new location.
