Re: restore the ignite tape to the itanium
Looks you need to go the the si mode to boot from tape device & restore the machine.
You need to interrupt the boot process at
EFI boot manager >Boot option maintenance menu & then exit to efi shell.
efi Shell>
at efi shell run "map -r -b" to get the list of
bootable media & then find the HW address of tape and boot from it.
Thanks & Regards

Re: restore the ignite tape to the itanium
You need to interrupt the boot to invoke the
EFI boot manager interfase.
Inside of EFI Boot Manager select EFI-Shell option into Boot Menu.
At EFI shell execute:
Shell> reconnect -r
In this point you must identify the SCSI device associated at the tape that you needs read from, i.e:
Shell> reconnect -r
Scsi(Pun1,Lun0) HP Ultrium 2-SCSI F60D (160 MBytes/sec)
HP Smart Array 6400-128 Controller (version 2.68) 1 Logical Drive
ReconnectController(0,0,0) : Status = Success
Now reload the EFI boot manager interfase to boot from the desired device, to do this execute at the EFI Shell:
Shell> reset
When the EFI boot manager is realoaded select "Boot Configuration" from Boot Menu. Then "Boot from file" option and select the correct device from list.
Wait until a keyboard layout menu appear, at this point you must select your preferred keyboard map (is just for this volatile sesion).
After these steps your system must be bboting from your ignite tape.
Rgds.
