shared memory
I am using HP-UX 10.20, K580 with 4GB(3.75GB) RAM.
I am trying configure shmmax to 1.25GB, but in system(SAM) it is saying 1GB is maximum allowable value. Is there any possibility to change max allowable/upper limit value?.
Any kind of replies encouraged.
Cheers...
Satish.

Re: shared memory
the simple answer is: you cannot!
since 10.20 is 32bits only, the maximum size of SHMMAX is exactly 1GB!
But with tricks (SHMEM_MAGIC) your application could use more than 1 shared memory segment, with Informix up to 2.75GB are possible, with Oracle up to 1.75GB only, though...

Re: shared memory
Take a look at the threads below on how to increase your shared memory on a system with 10.20.
