/tmp/env.vars (net_cfg_prep)

Hi, I currently have a server (rp4440) running ignite C.6.7.79 on HP-UX 11.23. I have make_tape_recovery to clone this server in other (S16K-A) but…. I have this problem:

NOTE: run_cmd: Process: 38 (net_cfg_prep): killed by signal: 1.
ERROR: Could not open /tmp/env.vars: No such file or directory (errno = 2).
ERROR: Could not execute net_cfg_prep
NOTE: System rebooting...

Does anyone know why this is happening? Thank you

Re: /tmp/env.vars (net_cfg_prep)

Hello Jota,

some ideas are:
- The systems have different LAN-Cards in different slots (HW-Path)

- Make_tape_recovery by default only saves a subset of the files, which ignite believes to be essential. You may enhance the list of saved files with the option '-A' (see manpages)

- the Serverhardware may be different and requires additionally patches.

I hope, this is helps a little

All this is true... but this problem is before all the problems that you said me.

Re: /tmp/env.vars (net_cfg_prep)

Can you tell what exactly steps you are following before you end up with this error?
I mean ignite user interface etc.

Is is signal 1 or signal 11 in the error?

Re: /tmp/env.vars (net_cfg_prep)

Same story here.
Trying to install HPUX 11i v2 on brand new out of the box Integrity rx1620, cold install from DVDs.
The installation dies early with the following:
- run_cmd: Process 64 (net_cfg_prep) killed by signal 1
Couldn't open /tmp/env.vars
Couldn't execute net_cfg_prep. System rebooting.
Thanks for any help.
