What does this error mean?

ERROR: swinstall(1M) failed to install recovery tools from:
"ignsvr:/var/opt/ignite/depots/recovery_cmds".

It means it can't get there from here.

Do you still have an NFS mount to ignsvr:/var?

you don't have NFS access from client to Ignite server.

can you mount ignsvr:/var/opt/ignite/depots/recovery_cmds to some temporary mount point on client?

It worked after I exported the filesystem. This line has to be in /etc/exports.

/var/opt/ignite/depots/recovery_cmds
