Configuring the set of reported traps on Proliant servers

Hi all,

In my company we have several servers DL380G5, o.s. Linux RedHat Ent. 4 ES.

We are now implementing a snmp environment in our network, so I installed the PSP on each server and I configured the snmpd.conf files to send the traps to our manager. Everything works fine.

Anyway I have a little question for you: can I enable/disable any SINGLE trap generated by the servers?

In the /opt/compaq directory and subdir I found some interesting files (cmaobjects.conf, nic/etc/cmanicobjects.conf...) but I'm not sure that you can manage all singular traps from these files.

Any suggest is appreciated,
Thanks in advance,

Michele

Re: Configuring the set of reported traps on Proliant servers

Hi Michele

I don't think that you can configure it at the agent side to send specific traps to the manager but there are management softwares which have the capability to receive and process specific events and drop rest of the traps which you might not be interested on.

Hope this helps.
