Hostname in OA via PSP

Hi,

Was wondering if anybody knows which package in the PSP for Red Hat Linux updates the blade server names in the c7000 OA. We have a bunch of RHEL servers without the PSP that all show 'host is unnamed'. We can manually update it via the iLO however we have a bunch of blades with the PSP installed and they show the FQDN in the OA.

We don't usually like to install all the PSP packages, only a select few we use on a regular basis such as hpacucli.

Regards,

Josh

Re: Hostname in OA via PSP

My guess would be one of the HP Lights-Out Agents in the hp-snmp-agents package. The descriptions from "man hp-snmp-agents":

  • cmarackd: "gathers information about rack systems such as rack power supplies and fans"
  • cmasm2d: "fulfills SNMP requests made to the iLO interface"
  • cpqriisd: "opens a channel interface for cmarackd"

Re: Hostname in OA via PSP

I can confirm on Gen8 servers with RHEL 6.1+ installing the hp-ams RPM will populate the hostname in the iLO/OA.

Re: Hostname in OA via PSP

I can confirm on iLO2/3 the hp-snmp-agents package seems to do the trick!
