SIM ( on windows system) doesn't get information about server centos 5.4

Hi all,
I've installed the latest psp 8.41_x86_64 on a servers BL680G5 ( the linux installed is Centos 5.4 final) All seem working well, no error during the installation, all services are on. when I try to discovery the server with SIM, the SIM does't get the information about model, serial number ecc...and the result said :
-the SMH is not installed or it may not supported ( but it's installed)
-For Linux based
operating systems, you must have dmidecode installed, enable the
PermitRootLogin and PasswordAuthentication in sshd
( and also this is correctly installed)

how can I solve the problems??
thank you in advanced
bye andre

Shalom,

PSP is Red Hat Specific. People don't like to hear that with Centos being binary compatible, but Centos is not supported fully by PSP.

This feature may be something you need to simply do without.

Explore your system and see if other issues can be identified.

Hi,

They changed the format of the PSP when they releases PSP 8.4x. Versions of IC-Linux prior to V6.1, which isn't out yet, don't support the new format, so that is why the PSPs did not get installed. If you want to use PSP 8.41 you will need to install hp-ilo, hpOpenIPMI, hp-health, and hp-snmp-agents manually. To do that copy the PSP tar file over to the target system and untar it and cd to the directory. There will be a file bp000xxx.xml. Edit that file and at the bottom you will find several lines that look like;

hp-ilo...

set the 4 components I mentioned above, and any others you want, to "yes". Then enter the command

./hpsum --bundle bp000xxx.xml

That should do the install and you should be in business. You will probably need to rediscover the systems.

Hi guys,
thank you for your reply, Finally I found the solution, I didn't install the hp-OpenIPM but I installed OpenIPM Centos, after this you can install hp-health, hp-snmp-agents ecc...and all works fine ( the version of psp is 8.40) however this kind of installation is on Blade 680G5 Centos 5.4 ( final)
