Can we use model 3 to support Windows managed servers as well, wherein we install ISEE client and OSEM only on the CMS (but not on other Windows managed servers)?
What are the prerequisites on the Windows managed servers to support this?
Thank you.

Re: Can we do a model 3 for windows managed servers (ISEE client only on CMS)?
If you want to use additional services of HP SIM, for examlpe, OSEM and the ISEE client can be installed onto the CMS.
HP SIM V5.1 offers an integrated remote support module (ISEE A.05.00, description on http://docs.hp.com/en/5991-7446/5991-7446.pdf). Everything is being configured within HP SIM.
If the service requests have to be sent via a SPOP to HP, you must choose one of the first two solutions.
Regards,
Werner

Re: Can we do a model 3 for windows managed servers (ISEE client only on CMS)?
Thank you for your support so far.
We are not using SIM. We do not have SPOP either. The intent to have OSEM+ISEE client installed only on CMS is to avoid installing ISEE client software on the managed Windows servers which will be several in number.
What I understood from your message is as follows. Could you please advice if my unserstanding is correct?
1) we can install OSEM and ISEE client on the CMS server which will collate the events from various other Windows servers.
2) we do not need any client program (SIM agent, etc) on the managed Windows servers. All we need is to enable SNMP on Windows?
Thank you. Best regards, Kumar

Solution"1) we can install OSEM and ISEE client on the CMS server which will collate the events from various other Windows servers."
Yes - Install the ISEE client and OSEM on a windows CMS. For the Windows CMS to monitor itself, it will also need the Insight Manager (IM) agents installed (not the Insight Manager application - HP SIM)
"2) we do not need any client program (SIM agent, etc) on the managed Windows servers. All we need is to enable SNMP on Windows?"
The pre-requisites for a model 3 is that the monitored machines require the IM agents installed - along with a trap destination set to the CMS (OSEM) and with an snmp read community string known by OSEM.
