HP IRS 07.05 will not recive "remote test"

Have installed IRS 07.05 and also the ELMC.

The Command View server and EVA P6000 has been loacted and listed under devices.

But I have not been able to get "Remote Service Test" from CV 10.2 to been visible in the Device Events.

Any suggestions? All devices has been enabled and Eligible.

Thanks

Hi Tore,

Are all of the icons for the EVA devices showing "green checkmarks"?  Are any fields showing a red "X"?

If any are red, can you indicate which ones, and if there is any more information available when you hover over them

or click on them?

Re: HP IRS 07.05 will not receive "remote test"

For a device to be monitored via ELMC the device must be enabled and entitled.

This becomes more complex when we talk about EVAs since it is monitored through a server running CV EVA.

Therefore the EVAs as well as the server running CV EVA all need to be enabled and entitled.

Can you check the entitlement of the above mentioned devices.

Re: HP IRS 07.05 will not receive "remote test"

If the CV Server is "ineligible", all messages from the server itself and even from the connected EVA are ignored.

A workaround is written in the managed devices guide:

Note: It is possible to monitor EVA devices that are attached to a P6000 Command View
server that is ineligible for remote support by manually editing the

C:/ProgramData/HP/RS/CONFIG/WEBES/DESTA.REG file.

If this file is not edited, Insight RS will not monitor the ineligible server and will therefore not be able to monitor the supported
EVA devices attached to the server.

Open the DESTA.REG file in a text editor and add

EvtMonitor.StartWatcher.<hostname>=t

for each ineligible server where
<hostname> is the name seen in the Devices list of the Insight RS Console.

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: HP IRS 07.05 will not receive "remote test"

This does not seem to apply to IRS 7.08 because the DETA.REG has been moved to C:\ProgramData\HP\RS\CONFIG\KCT and my changes are not working. The hosting device is no entitled. Any ideas how to get this working?

Sebastian

We are currently investigating this issue.  As soon as we have an answer, we will post something here with further information or instructions.

Thanks for your patience while we investigate.

Re: HP IRS 07.05 will not receive "remote test"

Had been able to resolve this issue with DP support. The latest (November) IRS Managemed Device configuration manual does no longer include this information. The previous one points to a wrong location. If you modify the DESTA.REG in the following location and restart both IRS Services the workaround does work.

C:/ProgramData/HP/RS/CONFIG/KCT/DESTA.REG file.

I asked them to review the documentation and have this fixed.

Hi!

Does the same trick concern to IRS Advanced? Is it posible to monitor EVA with ineligible CV-server under IRSA?

Thanks in advance!
