How to monitor small environments
Back in the 'old' day's, I used to configure HP Event Notifier config.
So on small environments 1 or 2 servers, when something was wrong, I received an e-mail, called my client and told him, your PSU is broken, or you need a new harddisk.
HP Event Notifier Config is not included anymore (HP Proliant DL380p Gen8) and HP 'told' me to use HP Insight Remote Support.
However I cannot register an HP IRS Host (known problem on Hyper-V BM)
HP IRS cannot be installed on a domain controller nor on a Hyper-V Server (core)
How am I supposed to monitor this small environments?!
Please share your solutions!

Re: How to monitor small environments
It is now easier than ever.
You don't need to install any Notfication Software.
iLO4 (Part of Gen8 Servers) can monitor the Hardware itself without Management Software and even if the Server is Powered off or have a "Non Popular OS" installed.
Look in iLO4 at System Information
And now go to iLO at Management > Alert Mail (Licensed Feature)
As you see, the iLO4 Hardware itself can now send you an E-Mail.
This is a great enhancement for smal environments.
