How to setup proxy to access isee.americas.hp.com
on a AlphaServer ES45 Model 2B running OpenVMS V7.3-1.
I can not access isee.americas.hp.com or it's ip address 192.151.53.128 port 80, due to firewall rules etc.
I need to setup access to this specific proxy server, to allow access to this HP site.
Anyone done this have any hints?
I used to setup proxies for unix servers in UCX 4.2, is this basically the same?

Re: How to setup proxy to access isee.americas.hp.com
I'm assuming your interfaces, and domain are already correctly configured. You or your system manager must setup the BIND Service to use the Proxy Server in your private network. Bind can be configured using the DCL Procedure...
$ @sys$manager:TCPIP$CONFIG.COM
TCP/IP Network Configuration Procedure
This procedure helps you define the
parameters required to run Compaq
TCP/IP Services for OpenVMS on this system.
Checking TCP/IP Services for OpenVMS
configuration database files.
Compaq TCP/IP Services for OpenVMS
Configuration Menu
Configuration options:
1 - Core environment
2 - Client components
3 - Server components
4 - Optional components
5 - Shutdown Compaq TCP/IP Services
6 - Startup Compaq TCP/IP Services
7 - Run tests
A - Configure options 1 - 4
[E] - Exit configuration procedure

Re: How to setup proxy to access isee.americas.hp.com
I'm sorry Victor if I have misunderstood what you meant by not being able to access isee.americas.hp.com ... due to firewall rules etc.
My description of setting up DNS access and routing was a key part of what I needed to do to access the internet through our company's firewall.
I did find the following document, that describes ISEE installation for VMS, which you may or may not already have...
HP Instant Support Enterprise Edition
Client Installation and Upgrade Guide
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/services/hardware/info/isee_client.pdf
I also found the HP ISEE homepage which may help others like me to first understand what ISEE is, and eventually orient others in this forum as to what is needed by you.
